# Opinion: I Tried to Find a Problem. There Isn't One.

I set out this month to write the piece this paper has never run: the one where something is wrong.

I began with the obvious. Was a transaction slow? I sent one. It arrived in the next block, as they do. Was a fee high? It was a fraction of a cent, which is what it was last month. Was the network down? It was not, and my colleagues on the wire desk assure me it has not been down at any point in the six hundred weeks they have been watching it.

I widened the search. I asked a mining pool operator whether anything had changed. "No," he said, and went back to work. I asked a wallet developer whether users were reporting difficulties. She said the main complaint was that the app had nothing to tell them, since payments simply went through.

I then tried the approach of the great investigative reporters and followed the money. It went from my wallet to the recipient's wallet. There was nobody in between to follow.

I am obliged to report that I failed. The currency works. I have filed this piece as opinion because, having found no facts to the contrary, an opinion is all I have left.

The editor has asked me to check again next month. I expect the same result, and will report it in full.
